Requirements Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher. Must be a resident of Arkansas, as defined by the ADHE, six months prior to the application deadline. Must be a domestic student in the U.S. This award is for college sophomores, juniors, seniors and/or graduate students. Must plan to teach in a public school in Arkansas located in a geographical area of the state designated as having a critical shortage of teachers or in a subject area designated as having a critical shortage of teachers. A list of the eligible Arkansas schools and subject areas is available at www.starark.com/Downloads.aspx Must attend an Arkansas public or private college or university. Must be enrolled full time. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Must be entering his/her sophomore, junior, or senior year or beginning his/her Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at time of application.
