Requirements
Must be a domestic student in the U.S. This is an undergraduate and/or graduate award. Must be a bona fide resident of Arkansas, as defined by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, six months prior to enrollment in an Arkansas institution. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Must be a high school graduate or older at time of application. Must be the spouse of an Arkansas resident who was killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty while working in one of the categories listed: law enforcement officer (includes state highway patrolman, municipal and college/university police officer, sheriff or deputy sheriff, and constable); full-time or volunteer firefighter; state highway employee; state forestry employee; state correction employee; state park employee who is a commissioned law enforcement officer; emergency services worker as defined in 12-75-103 (13); emergency medical technician as defined in subdivision (6) of 20-13-202; community punishment employee who suffers fatal injuries or wounds or becomes permanently and totally disabled as a result of injuries or wounds which occurred through contact with parolees, probationers, or center residents; or wildlife enforcement officer. Must attend an Arkansas state-supported college or university. Must be single at time of application (spouses who remarry are ineligible to receive this award).
