Requirements Must be unmarried and remain unmarried for the entire academic year. Must be a domestic student in the U.S. This is an undergraduate award. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Must be enrolled, accepted, or pending acceptance as a full-time dependent student for the entire academic year in a postsecondary educational institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. Must be under the age of 22 as of May 1, 2006. Must be the dependent child, stepchild, or legally adopted child of an Army soldier who is on active duty, retired, or deceased while on active duty or after retirement. Must be registered in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS). The applicant may check his/her status by calling 800-538-9552.
