Must be a domestic student in the U.S. This is an undergraduate award. Must be a resident of California. Must be enrolled in a vocational training program lasting from four to twenty four months. Eligible careers include: agriculturist, animal health technician, auto mechanic, bookkeeper/accountant, clerical/receptionist, commercial artist, computer science technician, correctional worker, cosmetologist, court reporter, dental assistant, dental hygienist, diesel mechanic, drafter, educational aide, electronics technician, fashion merchandiser/designer, firefighter, food service worker, forestry aide, laboratory technician, law enforcement worker, medical assistant, musician, nurse (LVN), nurse (RN), occupational therapy assistant, psychological assistant, physical therapy assistant, radiological technician, recreation worker, respiratory therapy assistant, secretary, social service aide, surgical technician, or welder. Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen. Must plan to attend or currently attend a qualified college or university in the state of California. The applicant can search for a Cal Grant eligible institution on the CSAC website. Must meet the family income and asset requirements. The following income ceilings are for dependent students and independent students with dependents other than a spouse: two family members, total income cannot exceed $65,000; three family members, total income cannot exceed $66,500; four family members, total income cannot exceed $72,300; five family members, total income cannot exceed $77,500; six or more family members, total income cannot exceed $83,600. See the CSAC website for information about additional income/asset requirements. Must plan to enroll on a half-time basis or greater. Must be a high school senior or older at time of application.
