Hi, my name is Nikki Broadnax. I am currently enrolled at Edward Waters
College, seeking my Bachelors of Science in Education. I have waited 20 years
almost to be able to come back to school. See I started my family early is was
15 years old when I had my first son, 19 when I had the second and 21 by the
time the third one came along. Along with my sons came Sickle cell anemia
(first born), Amniotic band Syndrome of the hand and feet (the baby), who also
suffers from ADHD, and the middle one has ADD. I took many low paying jobs just
to make ends meet. Until one day my son look me in the face and ask the
question, “Why should I go to college mommies you didn’t?”, that simple
Question stuck with me for years, so one day I decided at the age of 33, I was
going to go back to college! I have been here ever since… it very difficult
with maintain a household and college bills, but with the assistance of
calgon… can take me away from some of the levels of stress I am under.

Hi, my name is Elizabeth. I will be starting college in the fall and have a 3.65
GPA. I want to attend GA Highlands College, Douglasville,GA campus and after 2
years there will transfer to complete my degree. I am interested in small
business management and event planning/personal organization. I would like to
start my own business one day. I have worked very hard and have overcome some
personal challenges,please consider me for this scholarship. Thank you |
