Requirements Must be a domestic student in the U.S.; This is a graduate award.; Must be a U.S. citizen or qualifying non-citizen.; Must pursue a degree in medicine or dentistry.; In selecting scholarship recipients, priority is given to applicants in the following order: first priority - applicants who are economically disadvantaged and members of a minority group historically underrepresented in the medical or dentistry professions (i.e., Black, Hispanic, Native American, or Alaskan Native); second priority - applicants who are members of a minority group historically underrepresented in the medical or dentistry professions (as listed above); third priority - applicants who are enrolled in or graduates of the following state-sponsored opportunity programs: Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK), or College Discovery. Please note: The applicant should review the NYS Regents Health Care Scholarship application to determine if he/she is considered economically disadvantaged.; Must be a high school graduate or older at time application.; Must be a legal resident of New York for one year or more immediately preceding the effective date of the award.; Must enroll full time.; Must be enrolled in, or a candidate for admission to, an approved New York state medical or dental school. A list of approved schools can be found on the NYS Regents Health Care Scholarship application.
