Requirements Must be a domestic student in the U.S.; This is a freshman year award.; Must be a resident of Maryland.; Must be a high school junior at time of application.; Must plan to enroll at a two or four-year Maryland college, university or private career school.; Must plan to enroll full time (12 credit hours per semester or more). Audited courses cannot be used to reach the minimum credit hours required for full-time status.; Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.; Must have earned a minimum, cumulative, unweighted grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale in academic subjects taken during his/her first five semesters of high school OR be a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship or the National Achievement Scholarship Programs OR be nominated by his/her high school for an audition for talent in a visual art, instrumental music, vocal music, dance or drama.
