Requirements Must be a domestic student in the U.S.; This is an undergraduate and/or graduate award.; Must enroll in a two- or four-year college or university in Maryland.; Must be a high school senior or older at time of application.; Must enroll part time or full time.; Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.; Must be a Maryland resident.; Must be the son/daughter of a member of the United States Armed Forces who died or became 100 percent disabled as a direct result of military service; OR a veteran who suffers, as a direct result of military service, a disability of 25 percent or greater and has exhausted or is no longer eligible for federal veterans’ educational benefits; OR the son/daughter/spouse of a victim of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks who died as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon in Virginia, or the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania; OR a POW/MIA of the Vietnam Conflict and/or his/her son/daughter; OR be the son/daughter/spouse (who has not remarried) of a state/local public safety employee or volunteer who died in the line of duty; OR a state/local public safety employee or volunteer who has become 100 percent disabled in the line of duty.
