Amount Up to $3,500 annually at a Pennsylvania school or
Requirements Must be a domestic student in the U.S.; This is an undergraduate award.; Must be a bona fide domiciliary of Pennsylvania for a period of 12 months or more immediately preceding the date of application.; Must have been engaged in active service with the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard OR have been a cadet or midshipman at one of the service academies who was released under honorable conditions, OR be a person who is not a veteran now, but will be one by June 30.; If the applicant is a dependent student, he/she must have an annual family adjusted gross income of $69,000 or less after PHEAA adjustments are considered. If the applicant is an independent student, the maintenance allowance for a single independent student is $16,500 and for a married independent student is $22,000.; Must be a U.S. citizen.; Must attend a school approved by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. With certain exceptions, the applicant may choose any accredited college in the United States. One exception is that states which border Pennsylvania must allow their state grant recipients to attend Pennsylvania schools. For this reason, most New York, New Jersey and Maryland schools are not approved for participation in the State Grant Program.; Must enroll on at least a half-time basis (six credit hours per semester).
