Must attend an approved Illinois postsecondary institution as an undergraduate or attend one of the nationâ€™s four approved Military Service Academies.; Must be ranked in the top 5 percent of his/her high school class according to the cumulative grade point average at the end of the third semester before graduation OR must have taken the ACT, SAT I or Prairie State Achievement Exam between Sept. 1 and June 30 within the third and fourth semesters before graduation (this is usually the junior year of high school) and receive a score in the top 5 percent of all students in Illinois who take the test during the same time period.; Must be a domestic student in the U.S.; This is a freshman year award.; Must be a high school senior at time of application.; Must be a resident of Illinois.; Must attend a high school in Illinois.; Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
