Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen.; Must be a domestic student in the U.S.; This is an undergraduate and/or graduate award.; Must be the spouse of a law enforcement officer who was killed in the line of duty. For this award, 'spouse' is defined as a person that fulfills one of the following criteria: legally married to an officer at time of death; OR legally separated or divorced from an officer at time of death, if there are one or more dependent, minor children; children under the age of 25 who are full-time undergraduate students; children over the age of 18 who are incapable of self-support due to a physical or mental disability; or legal dependents of the fallen officer. *Please note: No other non-marital unions will be considered, regardless of whether the couple shared children. No other children (step-children, foster children) will be considered for purposes of eligibility.; Must be a high school graduate or older at time of application.
